“My name is Rylee and I am a Tracker.”
When children go missing, and the Humans have no leads, I?’m the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot.
The FBI wants me on their team. Bad enough that they are dangling bait they know I can’t resist.
The catch? It’s on the other side of the ocean. And if I want what they’re offering, I have to help them with a salvage gone terribly, terribly wrong.
But this time, I have no back up. I have no Plan B. And I have no O’Shea. Starring the irresistible, ass-kicking heroine Rylee Adamson, Raising Innocence is the third book in USA Today bestselling author Shannon Mayer’s sexy, exciting, and laugh-out-loud series, a dangerously addictive paranormal romance.

Raising Innocence, by author Shannon Mayer, is the third installment in the Rylee Adamson series. Protagonist Rylee Adamson is a tracker, and an immune, which means that magic mostly doesn't work against her. She has spent 10 years searching for lost & missing children with remarkable accuracy. Only one other child has ever proven impossible to track. Rylee's own sister Berget who disappeared 10 years ago.

With FBI Agent Liam O'Shea having been infected by a werewolf bite, and no longer human, and her former best friend & witch Millicent (Milly) acting like she wants to kill everyone Rylee knows, it's the perfect time for FBI Agent Valley of the Arcane Division to arrive. Valley explains that 20 children have gone missing. All of the children have been stolen from local London hospitals. In one of the more curious revelations, Valley also explains that Rylee isn't the only Tracker in the world.

But, before we get to Rylee's trip across the pond to bloody ole London, let's pause a minute and allow me to vent at how much I really, really hate Milly. Milly is the only person who knows all of Rylee's weaknesses. Milly is a psychopathic, power hungry, she-devil who not only goes after people Rylee has taken in to her family, but her betrayal goes so deep, that I can't even mentioned it without wanting to jump in the story and punch her in the throat. ::deep breath::

“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me a third time, and i'm going to run you the fuck through.”

Now, let's talk about Rylee and her exploits in London. First of all, I loved, loved that this story moved outside of North Dakota and New Mexico. I loved meeting Jake Feen, who is the only Tracker that Rylee has ever met. He has so much to teach her, that I am hopeful for the next installment to see what happens next. Also, I loved the addition of Pamela who we obviously we continue to see more of. I knew Pamela would be a character in this story from reading the synopsis from the book called Pamela. I will take 100 Pamela's over 1 Milly any day of the week.

This is a crazy story with missing kids, zombies, a twisted necromancer, Dryads, and Rylee's own abilities which have leaped to the point where she can do thinks nobody else can do. This story isn't Rylee's alone. The author chose to add Liam's struggles with his new status, and who he ends up being with. I haven't decided whether I want to cuddle with Alex, or laugh my silly butt off. I love Alex wholeheartedly. He's loyal, he's a joy to read about, and he is also learning to stand on his own 4 paws...see what I did there?

This story was definitely my favorite of the first three I have read in this series. I love Rylee's strengths, and yes, even her weaknesses. I love Rylee's relationship with Eve, the Harpy who she took in and made family. There's also some sadness in this story. I will say that I did in fact reach for a Kleenex, and wasn't embarrassed to do so. The mystery regarding Berget, I think, is finally coming to a head. I am definitely eager to find out what really happened. Yes, I am playing catch-up. Yes, I do know that the author has released an Epilogue series to this series as well. But, I will slowly get through this series if it takes me the rest of the year and into next to do so! If you have any of the Rylee books on Kindle, and would allow me to borrow them, please let me know.
